Hi I’m Jessica. I fell in love with teaching prenatal yoga in 2001, and created Ma Yoga® in 2009.
I developed this unique method of prenatal yoga not just because of what we all know – that prenatal yoga lowers blood pressure, reduces risk for negative birth outcomes, helps make labor easier and relieves common pregnancy aches and pains.
But also because I witnessed the life transformation when we learn to truly take care of ourselves.
To learn true self-care at any time of life – nourishing food routines, meditation, and simple movement practices to get out of pain and start the day feeling great – means being in a current of nurturing energy that supports us, no matter how crazy the day gets.
Nothing taught me this as fully as becoming a new mom. I felt isolated, depleted and stressed, I couldn’t afford childcare to go to a yoga class, and I needed to heal.
I needed to learn how to take care of my SELF, and it was crazy to me that I never had.
When you do yoga at home – even just 10 minutes – you’re never far away from your calm, clear center, whether you’re about to give birth or you’re a grandpa.
It all starts with saying YES to receiving support, guidance, and inspiration through it all.
And yes to having it all – in your pajamas!
At night I do the Rescue Poses just because they feel so good and relaxing.

I really appreciate the ability to pick a session based on length of time I have to practice, and being able to participate from home.
