WHY I CREATED THE MA JOURNEY:
When I got pregnant, I thought I’d be happy and calm.
Wrong. I couldn’t believe how much there was to worry about:
- Am I gaining to much? too little?
- Did I just do damage by breathing in those fumes at the salon?
- How will I be able to handle the pain of birth?
- Will I ever get my body back?
Luckily I had my yoga practice and community!
But it was when my baby was born that I felt really lost. I was:
- depleted, low-energy
- struggling to lose the extra weight
- getting colds all the time
- eating whatever was around instead of what my body wanted
- dealing with new aches and pains, and diastisis recti (split abdominal wall)
- convinced I’d never get my body, energy or my life back.
I thought I didn't have time to take care of myself.
Turns out, I just didn't know how to do it.
The old ways no longer worked.
Starving myself wasn't going to happen. I needed to eat healthier, and I didn't have time for complex recipes.
Long yoga classes, 20 minute meditation sessions just didn't fit into my busy mom life.
I thought, what if all of it could be honed down to its simplest form?
Eating healthy, doing yoga and meditation, taking care of ourselves - what if we could simplify it all?
Thus, the Ma Journey was born.
WHAT'S THE ITINERARY?
Step 1: Receive instruction in your focus area. With either Healthy Ma or Ma Birth, you’ll start by asking yourself: “Where do I want to be in six months?”
Then, you’ll take a six-week live course. If you choose Healthy, Ma, we’ll learn to dump diets and instead use simple recipes, as well as the WHAT, the WHEN, and the HOW of nourishing food routines to lose the extra weight, feel energized, understand how gluten/dairy/sugar/fat works in the body and end up with a customized plan to help us get where we want to be.
If you’re pregnant and you decide to do Ma Birth, you’ll start with a deep dive into all the pro’s and con’s of the choices you’ll have, led by Stefanie, an L&D nurse, Birth and Postpartum Doula, Sleep Trainer and more. She’s helped hundreds of couples transition into happy families, and she can’t wait to help you do the same!
Step 2: Find steadiness with a go-to yoga practice. I’ll make it easy for you to creat YOUR practice by starting with a single delicious, strengthening 1-minute sequence. Then, I’ll guide you as you hone it for your schedule, your experience level, and the change you want to create in your body and your life.
Step 3: Heal and strengthen. We begin to add in subtle alignment-based actions that will relieve your pain, tone your core, and help healing happen for YOUR specific challenges. No pain, no pain is our motto.
Step 4: Connect to your inner resources. Perfect if you hate meditation! OR if you love it and don’t have time. OR if you think you’re bad at it. Ma Meditation is different: it’s honed down to its simplest elements, so you can choose what connects you to what you need on any given day. In as little as 2 minutes you can drop in and connect to your best Self.
Step 5: Be the powerful co-creator you now are. Remember when you thought you didn’t have time to take care of yourself? Celebrate how far you’ve come and reap the rewards of your nourishing and nurturing routines! Now that you have all the tools, step into being the powerful co-creator you now are.

The Ma Journey offers two different tracks: Healthy Ma and Ma Birth:
Whether you’re a mom, mom-to-be or busy nurturer of people and projects, if vibrant wellness is your focus, we’ll start with the live six-week course, Ideal Weight/Ideal Lifestyle Lab (I WILL).
You’ll discover the WHAT (easy recipes), WHEN (daily rhythms), and HOW (quick routines) of getting nourishing food into your body without living in the kitchen.
We’ll talk about gluten, dairy, and sugar, and what they do to the body, so you can make choices that are right for you.
We’ll explore Keto/Atkins/Paleo, what works and what doesn’t, and dive into one lifestyle routine that actually does help us lose weight and keep it off. We’ll talk about inflammation, digestion, and how to get more energy from your food and so much more.
You’ll receive recipes for food that takes 10 minutes or less to prepare and we’ll have coaching sessions to integrate and strategize.
You’ll awaken intelligent cravings and create a whole new relationship with food and your body.
If you’re pregnant and prefer to focus on preparing for birth and postpartum, you’ll take our six-week live course Empowering Birth with Stefani Castro, Labor & Delivery Nurse, birth and postpartum doula, breastfeeding educator and Certified Ma Yoga teacher.

After Your Live Course
Once you’ve learned all the pro’s and con’s of all your choices, gained tools and techniques and created your customized plan, the two tracks come together for the rest of the Ma Journey to incorporate routines that will support you in making your vision a reality.
We meet together weekly in our private Facebook group and our member area.

Monday Moodivator email – Each Monday you’ll receive a short inspirational heads up and that week’s action steps.
Wednesday Workshop – We meet live mid-day PST on Wednesdays to dive in to our main topic for 30-60 minutes. Can’t make it? The video is always available within 24 hours of the session.
Friday Free For All – General Q&A on Zoom, and then unrecorded share time. Having trouble letting go of old eating habits? Worried about an injury or condition and if it’s safe to do yoga? As part of her Masters in Exercise Science, Jessica spent six years developing and running a prenatal yoga program at Kaiser hospital’s Ob/Gyn departments.
